Job Summary
Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welded joints to ensure compliance with AWS, ASME, and company standards. Verify weld procedures, welder qualifications, and welding consumables, then conduct non-destructive testing methods as applicable. Review engineering drawings and specifications to ensure product conformance, while documenting results, non-conformances, and corrective actions using the quality management system. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve welding issues and participate in weld audits and root cause analysis. Maintain inspection equipment calibration and ensure traceability of records. Requires AWS Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) certification and 5+ years of experience in welding inspection within a manufacturing environment. Salary range is $65,000-$80,000.
Required Qualifications
- AWS Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) certification
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding and welding inspection within a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, and other relevant codes
- Experience with stainless steel and high-performance alloys commonly used in cooling system fabrication
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital inspection/reporting tools
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with pressure vessel, piping, or HVAC component manufacturing
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems
