Job Summary
Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery while safely handling and restraining animals with compassion. Perform technical duties including lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement, and communicate clearly with clients regarding care instructions and status updates. Maintain accurate medical records, assist with medication dispensing, and ensure exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment remain clean, stocked, and ready. Adhere to hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times. This full-time role averages 35 hours per week with three 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday and one Saturday shift, offering a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Veterinary Technician in New Jersey
- Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately
- Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions
- Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines
