Job Summary
As a Certified Veterinary Technician, provide veterinary nursing care and act as a patient advocate under veterinarians and other technicians. Assist with medical treatments, diagnostics, and procedures; safely restrain and handle animals during examinations; maintain accurate medical records and assist with client communication. Deliver compassionate care, maintain cleanliness of treatment areas, and support across the network of Peoria Area Veterinary Group locations. Utilize skills in diagnostic sample collection, catheter placement, venipuncture, radiography (including dental radiology), anesthesia and pain management, and prophylactic cleanings. Continuously expand knowledge and skills, and thrive in a collaborative, high-quality veterinary team.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) with an active state license
- 2+ years of hands-on clinical experience preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- A positive attitude and commitment to providing excellent patient care
- Ability to work well in a team and handle stressful situations in a calm manner
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-changing environment
