Job Summary
Provide compassionate, cutting-edge neurological care to patients at a VECCS Level I Facility, working alongside specialists in emergency, critical care, and internal medicine. Manage anesthetic protocols and surgical procedures while demonstrating confidence in restraint, venipuncture, and anesthesia. Collaborate closely with a full staff of veterinarians, technicians, and liaisons to deliver the highest quality of care in a supportive environment. Work four days a week in 10-hour shifts, including weekend rotations and holidays. Compensation starts at $25.00-$32.00/hour with a $1,000 sign-on bonus and additional pay for VTS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Veterinary Technician
- 1-3 years Veterinary Technician experience
- Must be 18 years or older to apply
- Weekend shifts and holidays are required
- 4 days a week / 10-hour shifts
- Strong communication skills both with clients and colleagues
- Comfortable with restraint
- Comfortable with venipuncture
- Comfortable with anesthesia
- Experience providing nursing care and husbandry for admitted patients
- Knowledge of basic laboratory tests
- Knowledge of the use, care, and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client and personal services
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
Desired Qualifications
- Associates in Veterinary Technology
- CVT license
- Phlebotomy
- IV Catheterization (peripheral)
- Experience with CPR
- Experience with EzyVet
- Experience with SmartFlow
- Genuine passion for anesthetic protocols and surgical procedures
- Self-starter
- Meticulous attention to detail
