Job Summary

Conduct compassionate, cutting-edge neurological care for patients in a VECCS Level I specialty environment, working closely with specialists in emergency, critical care, and other disciplines. Manage anesthetic protocols and surgical procedures while demonstrating confidence in restraint, venipuncture, and anesthesia. Deliver nursing care and husbandry for admitted patients, utilizing strong communication skills to navigate client interactions and collaborate effectively within the team. The role requires 4 days a week with 10-hour shifts, including weekend and holiday coverage. Candidates must possess 1-3 years of veterinary technician experience and a genuine passion for anesthetic protocols.

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Veterinary Technician
  • 1-3 years Veterinary Technician experience
  • Must be 18 years or older to apply
  • Weekend shifts and holidays are required
  • 4 days a week / 10-hour shifts
  • Strong communication skills both with clients and colleagues
  • Comfortable with restraint
  • Comfortable with venipuncture
  • Comfortable with anesthesia
  • Experience providing nursing care and husbandry for admitted patients
  • Knowledge of basic laboratory tests
  • Knowledge of the use, care, and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client and personal services
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments

Desired Qualifications

  • Associates in Veterinary Technology
  • CVT license
  • Phlebotomy
  • IV Catheterization (peripheral)
  • Experience with CPR, EzyVet, and SmartFlow
  • Genuine passion for anesthetic protocols and surgical procedures
  • Managing the meticulous details that come with a specialty practice
  • Self-starter
  • Collaboration and input from all team members
