Job Summary
Provide compassionate, cutting-edge neurological care to patients in a VECCS Level I specialty environment, working closely with specialists in emergency, critical care, and other disciplines. Manage meticulous details of anesthetic protocols and surgical procedures while demonstrating confidence in restraint, venipuncture, and anesthesia. Collaborate with a full team of veterinarians and technicians to deliver high-quality patient care, utilizing strong communication skills with both clients and colleagues. The role requires 4 days a week with 10-hour shifts, including weekend and holiday coverage. Starting pay ranges from $25.00 to $32.00 per hour, with additional VTS bonuses and a $1,000 sign-on bonus available.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Veterinary Technician
- 1-3 years Veterinary Technician experience
- Must be 18 years or older to apply
- Weekend shifts and holidays are required
- 4 days a week / 10-hour shifts
- Strong communication skills both with clients and colleagues
- Comfortable with restraint
- Comfortable with venipuncture
- Comfortable with anesthesia
- Experience providing nursing care and husbandry for admitted patients
- Knowledge of basic laboratory tests
- Knowledge of the use, care, and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing client and personal services
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments
Desired Qualifications
- Associates in Veterinary Technology
- CVT license
- Phlebotomy
- IV Catheterization (peripheral)
- Experience with CPR
- Experience with EzyVet
- Experience with SmartFlow
- Genuine passion for anesthetic protocols and surgical procedures
