Job Summary
Certified Veterinary Technician needed to support ASPCA Community Medicine clinics in multiple sites (including Miami, NY, and Los Angeles). Provide high-volume spay/neuter procedures, preventive care, injections, anesthesia monitoring, diagnostic testing, and post-operative care. Maintain patient records, assist with exams, communicate with clients about animal health and vaccine protocols, and collaborate with veterinarians and CM staff to deliver compassionate veterinary services to underserved communities. Requires Florida veterinary technician certification (or able to obtain within 30 days), strong animal-handling and customer-service skills, ability to lift 40+ pounds, and willingness to work a Monday–Friday schedule with occasional extended hours. Salary range: $31.25–$33.65 per hour plus relocation assistance and signing/retention bonuses; benefits include medical/dental/vision, PTO, 401(k), CE stipend, and professional development opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Must have graduated from accredited school of veterinary science technology (2 or 4 year program) or the equivalent as determined by the Florida Education Department
- Must have current Florida State Veterinary Technician Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment)
- Excellent animal handling skills (cats, dogs)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Experience using a computer and navigating software applications
- Ability to lift and carry 40-plus pounds repeatedly throughout day with assistance
- Ability to work standing for 8 or more hours
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work efficiently and calmly under challenging conditions
- Strong interest in animal welfare and serving underserved communities
- Fear Free Shelter certification is required within 60 days of hire
- Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred
- Certified Veterinary Technician - Other Language: English (Required), Spanish
- Education and Work Experience: Associates, Bachelors
