Job Summary
Certified Veterinary Technician position at Central Hospital for Animals in Carbondale, IL. Required Qualifications
- Active veterinary technician license in IL
- 1+ years experience preferred but not required or equivalent (including students in AVMA-accredited programs or new graduates)
- Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance is ideal but not required
- Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
- Excellent customer service and precise client communication
- Ability to interpret medical records and maintain client histories
- Knowledge of preventive care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow
- Ability to process and set up laboratory samples and tests
- Proficiency in radiographs and dental radiographs is a plus
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development
- Background check may be required
