Job Summary
Conduct hands-on emergency and critical care, including triaging patients, placing IV catheters and central lines, assisting with radiographs and ultrasounds, and providing intensive care for ICU patients. Bandage, splint, and assist in surgery while preparing and interpreting lab samples. Mentor less experienced staff and partner with DVMs to deliver patient care and client education. This Certified Veterinary Technician role is ideal for those eager to practice at the top of their license within a collaborative, high-energy ER team in Northwest Arkansas.
Required Qualifications
- Current CVT (or eligible for certification)
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive team-oriented attitude
- Ability to arrive on time and ready to work in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills
- Accurate medical recordkeeping and client history documentation
- Proficiency in safe, low-stress restraint of patients
- Competence in sample collection (blood, urine, fecal, skin) and lab processing
- Proficiency in positioning and capturing quality radiographs
- Experience in anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ year of clinical experience (ER or specialty preferred, but not required)
- Familiarity with preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow
- Confidence in advanced skills (e.g., central lines, NG tubes, CRI calculations)- or a strong desire to learn!
- Ability to accept and integrate constructive feedback to maintain efficiency and patient safety
- A self-starter mindset with motivation to expand knowledge, pursue specialization, or step into leadership
