Certified Utility Arborist (CUA/UTT)

Job Summary
Provide line clearing and tree trimming services for major electric utility providers by pruning, thinning, removing deadwood, and clearing hazardous trees encroaching on rights of way. Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew, safely maintaining and operating chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts while managing job site setup and cleanup. Adhere strictly to Davey and industry safety policies. Requires Certified Arborist or Utility Tree Trimmer designation, line clearance certification, and minimum one year of electric utility tree trimming experience. Full-time year-round employment with occasional overtime; valid provincial driver's license and ability to lift 50 lbs required.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Arborist or Utility Tree Trimmer designation
- Line clearance certification
- Electric utility tree trimming/climbing experience
- Understanding and implementation of the process of safely ascending tree canopies at all heights
- Minimum 1 year experience
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs
- Valid provincial driver's license
- Licensed to drive a 5-ton vehicle and air brake endorsement
- Ability to work safely as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and progress
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Out of town travel Monday - Friday
- Occasional overtime required
Desired Qualifications
- Line clearance certification preferred
- Preferred background in Forestry, Horticulture or Landscaping
- First Aid certification preferred
- Licensed to drive a 5-ton vehicle and air brake endorsement considered an asset
