Job Summary
Control vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic in work zones using hand signals with a STOP/SLOW Paddle. Execute temporary traffic control plans and maintain Advance Warning Signs and channelizing devices per Federal, State, and Local guidelines. Coordinate with customers to ensure worker safety and drive company vehicles to transport equipment and team members. Maintain effective radio communication with site members and notify supervisors of safety issues. Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to other protectors. Achieve required organizational training within established timeframes. This safety-sensitive role involves mandatory out-of-town work averaging two to four weeks.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years old
- Safety sensitive position
- Traffic Control Technician (TCT) Certification or 2000+ verifiable hours
- High School Diploma or GED completion
- Must be able to follow safe workplace practices
- Valid Driver's License void of suspension or revocation
- Must be able to read and write English
- Valid AZ Driver's License with a motor vehicle report that meets company guidelines
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must have good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination
- Mandatory out of town work averaging 2 weeks- 2 months
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience preferred in temporary traffic control services, utility industry, or construction industry
- Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office products and customer relationship management systems
- 1 year Construction experience preferred
