Job Summary

Provide specialized instruction to meet the needs of students with disabilities in a 6th-8th grade special education setting. Role involves evaluating and assessing progress per individual education plans (IEPs), using specialized curriculum and assistive technology, maintaining detailed records, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team (including school psychologists, speech/hearing specialists, OT/PT, counselors, adaptive PE, and school social workers), planning and implementing district interventions, delivering engaging instruction, and conducting ongoing progress monitoring and goal setting to support student academic and social growth.

Required Qualifications

  • Teaching certificate for the particular position as required by the State
  • Familiarity with computers including but not limited to electronic mail, the Internet, word processing, and electronic spreadsheets (Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to communicate to students, parents, and staff in an acceptable/courteous manner
  • Ability to understand and follow basic oral and written instructions
