Certified Surgical Technologist

Job Summary
Conduct intraoperative support by arranging and inventorying sterile instruments, passing items to surgeons and nurses, and assisting with patient preparation and movement. Maintain highest standards of sterile technique by checking package integrity and performing appropriate counts before incision and closure. Prepare back tables and mayo stands using surgeon preference cards, anticipating needs and adjusting quickly for emergent cases or workflow changes. Provide on-call coverage outside standard hours and serve as a key resource for maintaining surgeon preference cards and updating department supplies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/G.E.D.
- Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program
- Current Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association
- Current registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado
- Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- Previous scrub Experience in a hosp[ital setting
- One (1) year of experience in a surgical setting
- Experience in a specialty field
- Schedule Per policy PRN requires a Min availability for 5 shifts in a 6 week schedule block and 2 holidays per yr
- Call is required for most positions
- 30Min callback radius required
