Job Summary
Certified Surgical Technologist prepares sterile field and instruments, maintains sterile technique, assists the surgeon throughout all phases of the procedure, anticipates the needs of the surgical team, passes supplies and instruments, assists with suction, irrigation, suture preparation, specimen handling, and retraction, participates in intraoperative activation of power equipment, handles room turnover and post-operative preparation, and serves as a resource for onboarding and training with emphasis on infection control and patient safety. Collaborates with the surgical team to support efficient operations and professional standards.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program (CAAHEP or ABHES preferred)
- 1-3 years of Surgical Technologist experience in a fast-paced multi-specialty hospital or surgery center is required
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) through NCCT required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license as employees may occasionally be required to operate a company vehicle
