Job Summary
Certified Surgical Technologist works in the Operating Room as part of the perioperative team, performing duties as a Scrub Technologist and/or Second Assisting Technologist per OR policy. Responsibilities include preparing the OR, draping and organizing sterile fields, passing instruments to the surgeon, maintaining sterile technique, assisting with patient positioning, participating in Pre-Brief/Time-out/Debrief, and supporting efficient workflow while upholding safety standards and policy. Requires NBSTSA or NCCT certification, and graduation from an accredited CST program; ABHES/CAAHEP accreditation or military program acceptable. Shift is Full-Time (Days) in Bend, Oregon within OFNHP bargaining unit with differential pay as described. Must meet PPE and safety standards and demonstrate strong teamwork and communication.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited program or military surgical technologist program
- Current NBSTSA Surgical Technologist Certification, or current NCCT Surgical Technologist Certification
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification
- Preferred: NBSTSA CSFA
- One year experience in a high volume OR (preferred)
- PPE and safety training
- Able to stand for long periods; able to lift 1-50 pounds as needed
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and OR instrumentation
