Job Summary
Plan surgical procedures by assembling instrumentation, equipment, and necessary supplies. Maintain the integrity of the sterile field using aseptic technique and prioritize the needs of the surgical team through daily schedule analysis. Ensure adherence to Surgical Services Infection Control, Safety, and Risk Management policies while serving as a preceptor for students and new employees. Perform job-specific requirements and other duties as assigned in the main operating room. This role requires current AHA BLS certification and National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting certification within one year of hire. Required Qualifications
- High school or equivalent (GED)
- Graduate from an accredited Certificate or Associate Degree program in Surgical Technology
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification, or equivalent course credentialed by American Heart Association
- Medical Technician - NH Board of Registration of Medical Technicians
- National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting certification within one year of hire date
- Must regularly lift, carry or push/pull up to 10 pounds
- Must frequently lift, carry or push/pull up to 10 - 25 pounds
- Must occasionally lift, carry or push/pull up to 20 - 50 pounds
