Certified Surgical Technologist - Main Operating Room (Full time, 4 10hr Shifts w/call)

Job Summary

Prepare, organize, and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures while anticipating the needs of the surgeon and procedural team. Ensure appropriate instrumentation, supplies, and equipment are available throughout operations by maintaining strict aseptic technique and preventing contamination. Participate in sponge, sharps, and instrument counts and receive medications from licensed nurses to the sterile field under surgeon direction. Handle and label specimens for pathology, manage infection prevention practices, and protect patients and team members by following universal precautions and radiation safety guidelines. Work in a Level II Trauma Center environment requiring prolonged standing and the ability to lift up to 100 lbs.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
  • Certified Surgical Technologist certification
  • CPR/BLS certification within 90 days of hire or transfer
  • Knowledge of sterile technique
  • Knowledge of surgical instrumentation
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 100 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior operating room experience in an acute care hospital setting
  • Experience supporting high-acuity surgical procedures and/or trauma cases in a Level II Trauma Center or comparable hospital environment
