Certified Surgical Technologist - Main Operating Room (Full time, 4 10hr Shifts w/call)

Job Summary

Prepare, organize, and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures while anticipating the needs of the surgeon and procedural team. Ensure appropriate instrumentation, supplies, equipment, and implants are available throughout operations, maintaining strict aseptic technique and preventing contamination. Participate in sponge, sharps, and instrument counts, receive and transfer medications to the sterile field, and handle, label, and prepare specimens for pathology. Maintain continuous awareness of patient safety and surgical flow within a high-acuity Level II Trauma Center environment. This role requires strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and trauma-informed perioperative practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program
  • Certified Surgical Technologist certification
  • CPR/BLS certification within 90 days of hire or transfer
  • Knowledge of sterile technique
  • Knowledge of surgical instrumentation
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 100 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior operating room experience in an acute care hospital setting
  • Experience supporting high-acuity surgical procedures and/or trauma cases in a Level II Trauma Center or comparable hospital environment
