Job Summary
Prepare and maintain medical equipment for surgical procedures while following hospital regulations to tend to patients during pre-operation steps. Perform skin and body preparations, assist in transporting patients to and from the operating room, and actively participate in process improvement projects. Work primarily in the CVOR, though floating to the Main Operating Room may occur. Maintain regular, predictable attendance and demonstrate competency in more than two specialty areas. Lift up to 50 lbs and maintain standing or sitting positions while stooping, crouching, or bending as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program
- 2 years' experience in an operating room as a Surgical Scrub Tech
- LPN
- military training
- Surgical Technician Certification (CST)
- Operating room experience
- Competent in more than two specialty areas
- Certified to perform CPR
- BLS
- Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
- Must be able to stoop, crouch, or bend
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years' experience, CVOR preferred
