Job Summary
Conduct pre-op, intra-op, and post-op surgical counts according to AORN standards while assembling, maintaining, and tracking surgical instruments and equipment. Prepare sterile tables, verify specimen names and transport media with the surgeon and circulating nurse, and perform surgical hand scrubs in accordance with hospital policy. Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure rapid case turnover and maintain the highest standards of patient safety and infection control during procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- NBSTSA Certification
- American Heart Associate Heartsaver certification
- One year of experience
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Team player who knows how to think critically in a fast-paced, challenging environment
- Active participant in seeking solutions to problems
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- Specialized or vocational courses
- Continuous physical exertion
- Ability to lift material or equipment of heavy weight (50 lbs. or more)

- Demonstrated knowledge of orthopedic instrumentation
- Ability to articulate and demonstrate sterile processing procedures
