Job Summary
The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) serves as the first scrub in the surgical suite, facilitating safe and efficient surgical procedures and maintaining compliance with surgical protocols. Responsibilities include preparing the surgical suite with sterile instruments, assisting in the preparation and positioning of patients, maintaining instrument organization and tracking counts, and precepting new staff and students. The role requires current knowledge and skills related to surgical procedures, with a minimum of 3 -5 years of multispecialty operating room experience necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Basic Life Safety (American Heart Association)
- 3 -5 years of multispecialty OR experience in the scrub role as LPN or CST
Desired Qualifications
- 5 plus years of multi-specialty operating room experience in the scrub role as LPN or CST
- Member of a national nursing or surgical technology organization
