Job Summary
Prepare the operating room with instruments, equipment, and supplies while assisting surgeons and nurses by anticipating needs, passing instruments, and maintaining the sterile field. Count items, handle specimens, assist with patient positioning, and adhere strictly to aseptic technique throughout daily procedures. Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and strong sterile technique knowledge in a fast-paced environment. This role requires one year of recent full-time experience in an acute care facility as a certified surgical technologist, including CST certification provisioned through the NBSTSA. Quarterly American Heart Association Resuscitation Quality Improvement competency certification is required post-hire. Required Qualifications
- One (1) year recent full-time experience in an acute care facility as a certified surgical technologist
- Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program to include certification
- CT CPRBLS - Basic Life Support - AHA
- CT ORT = Certified Surgical Technologist Nat'l
- Current employees, hired in this position before January 1, 2018, have been grandfathered and are exempt from the requirement to obtain NBSTSA certification
- Quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire
Desired Qualifications
- One year recent fulltime experience in an acute care facility as a certified surgical technologist, to include experience with trauma and open heart
- CST certification provisioned through the NBSTSA
