Job Summary
The Certified Surgical Technologist will provide skilled technical care to the pediatric patient in the operating room as Scrub Nurse or First Assistant to the Surgeon under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician. Responsibilities center on surgical instrument handling and equipment operation with close collaboration to the surgical team. The role supports the documented nursing care plan and requires 40 hours per week on first shift, with on-call duties totaling 6-8 days per month including two 24-hour weekend on-call shifts. Must live within 30 minutes of Prosper Medical Center for on-call coverage.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of a Surgical Technology Program
- Certification through NBSTSA or NCCT prior to start
- Current BLS certification recognized by AHA
