Job Summary
Certified Surgical Technologist is responsible for the sterile set up of the back table and Mayo stand for cesarean procedures, performs initial counts with RN, assists with gowning, gloving, and establishing sterile fields, participates in surgical timeout, anticipates surgeon's needs, and provides direct patient care activities for patients of all ages. The role requires graduate qualifications from an accredited program and certification, with preferred experience in patient care settings.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program required
- Surgical technologist certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
- BLS certified within 90 days of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of nursing assistant program or previous experience with direct patient care preferred
- Flexibility with rapidly changing work environments
