Job Summary
Performs direct patient care duties and assists physicians during procedures in the Labor & Delivery unit. Scrubs for surgical procedures and ensures availability and maintenance of equipment and supplies; supports day-to-day department operations. Requires certification in Surgical Technology and BLS; education: high school diploma or equivalent with graduation from an approved surgical technology program. No prior work experience required; one year of experience preferred. Strong organizational and time-management skills, good judgment, and ability to work self-directed in a high-stakes clinical environment. Must comply with applicable laws, regulations, and hospital policies, including infection control and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; graduate from an approved surgical technology program
- Certification in Surgical Technology
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association
- Preferred: 1 year of experience in a similar medical setting
