Job Summary
A surgical technologist assists the surgeon in the pediatric intraoperative phase, maintaining sterile technique, preparing age-appropriate instrumentation, passing instruments, and collaborating with the healthcare team. The role supports patient families, participates in quality improvement, and may require on-call duties. Positions available at Dayton Children's Main Campus and South Campus; operates across both campuses with emphasis on safety and compassionate care in a pediatric environment. Requires graduation from an accredited surgical technology program with CST certification; CFA certification is required; CIS is preferred; CPR is preferred and must be obtained within two weeks of start date.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology is required
- Graduate from Accredited Surgical Technical school
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
- Certified Surgical First Assistant (CFA) - NBSTSA is required
- Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) is preferred
- CPR is preferred at hire, but must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date
- Education Requirements: Associates (Required), GED, High School (Required)
