Job Summary
Prepare surgical cases by creating and maintaining sterile fields, retracting instruments, and passing supplies to surgeons. Accurately check required supplies and equipment, assemble operative instrumentation, and set up sterile fields demonstrating aseptic technique. Complete instrument, sponge, and blade counts with the Registered Nurse, collect case data based on Performance Standards of Care, and transport patients according to unit schedules. Perform housekeeping duties and provide clerical support as requested. Requires Certified Surgery Technician (CST) certification, BLS or CPR certification, and recent open-heart or cardiothoracic experience. Assist the surgical team in the operating room at Adventist Health Lodi Memorial, a leading healthcare provider in San Joaquin County since 1952.
Required Qualifications
- High School Education/GED or equivalent
- Certified Surgery Technician (CST) certification or Tech in Surgery TS-C (NCCT) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) or Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery (NCCT-ST)
- All required vaccinations
- E-Verify participation acknowledgment
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Scrub technician experience
- Operating room experience and/or training course
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
