Certified Surgical Technician, CVOR

Prepare surgical cases by creating and maintaining sterile fields, retracting and passing instruments, and supplying medications to surgeons. Accurately check required supplies and equipment, assemble operative instrumentation, and set up sterile fields demonstrating aseptic technique. Collect case data based on Performance Standards of Care, perform sponge and instrument counts with the RN, and complete equipment cleaning and housekeeping duties. Transport patients according to unit schedules and priorities while providing assigned clerical support. Requires Certified Surgery Technician (CST) certification, Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification, and a high school diploma or GED.
