Job Summary
Prepare surgical cases by creating and maintaining sterile fields, retracting instruments, and passing supplies to surgeons. Accurately check required equipment, assemble operative instrumentation, and set up sterile fields demonstrating careful aseptic technique. Complete instrument, sponge, and needle counts with the Registered Nurse, collect case data based on Performance Standards of Care, and transport patients according to unit schedules. Perform housekeeping duties and provide clerical support as requested. Requires Certified Surgery Technician (CST) certification, Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification, and a high school diploma or GED. Adventist Health Lodi Memorial, a 190-bed hospital in San Joaquin County, seeks this role for our surgical team.
Required Qualifications
- High School Education/GED or equivalent
- Certified Surgery Technician (CST) certification or Tech in Surgery TS-C (NCCT) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) or Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery (NCCT-ST)
- Recent open-heart or cardiothoracic experience
- All required vaccinations
- E-Verify participation acknowledgment
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Scrub technician experience
- Operating room experience and/or training course
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
