Certified Surgical Technician, CVOR

Prepare surgical cases by creating sterile fields, retracting instruments, and passing supplies to surgeons. Check required equipment prior to procedures, assemble operative instrumentation, and maintain neat sterile fields using aseptic technique. Collect case data based on Performance Standards of Care, complete instrument and sponge counts with the RN, and label solutions per established standards. Transport patients according to unit schedules and perform requested housekeeping duties. Requires CST certification, BLS or CPR certification, and recent open-heart or cardiothoracic experience.
