Job Summary
A clinically competent surgical technologist works under the supervision of the registered nurse in delivering safe and effective care to the patient in the intra-operative period. Effectively interacts with patients and health care team members, while maintaining surgical department standards. Works efficiently with acutely ill patients, including emergency situations. Role requires assisting in the operating room during procedures, maintaining sterile technique and ensuring readiness of instruments and supplies for Endo cases.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program
- Associates Degree in Surgical Technology
- Current BLS certification
- Must hold and maintain a certification from an accredited Surgical Technologist program; or have completed training in Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard surgical technology program; or have been employed to practice Surgical Technology as primary job in another healthcare facility within past two years
