Job Summary
Certified Surgical Tech available to work in the Wilkes-Barre, PA OR from 3 pm to 11 pm. A clinically competent surgical technologist works under the supervision of the registered nurse in delivering safe and effective intra-operative care. Roles include interacting with patients and health care team members, maintaining department standards, and assisting with acutely ill or emergency patients. Requires graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology Program with an Associates Degree, current BLS certification, and either certification from an accredited Surgical Technologist program or completion of approved military or prior experience with intent to obtain certification within six months. Emphasizes technical/mechanical ability, manual dexterity, understanding of surgical procedures and techniques, sound judgment, ability to follow orders, crisis management, and strong interpersonal skills.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program
- Associates Degree
- current BLS certification, must complete prior to end of orientation period
- Must hold and maintain a certification from an accredited Surgical Technologist program OR has successfully completed training in an appropriate Surgical Technology program in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard OR employed to practice Surgical Technology, where surgical technology was your primary job, in another health care facility within the past two years OR obtain certification within six months of hire.
