Certified Surgical Tech - Mid-Shift

Job Summary
Scrub into operative procedures and ensure instruments and supplies are available for scheduled cases. Set up cases ensuring all instruments are thoroughly sterilized and maintain the sterile field during setup. Assist the physician with cutting suture material and applying electrocautery to clamps on bleeders under direct supervision. Perform gross decontamination of instruments by breaking them down for further cleaning in Central Sterile Processing. Collaborate with the circulating nurse to carry out appropriate interventions. This role involves a full-time schedule Monday through Friday from 11:00 to 19:30, with one night call per week and every fourth weekend off.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Tech (CST) certification
- Technical Diploma from a Surgical Technologist accredited program or comparable military training
- Eligibility for Surgical Technologist Certification
- Must be available for 1 night/week
- Must be available for every 4th weekend
- Must be able to scrub into cases
- Must be able to ensure instruments and supplies are available for the scheduled case
- Must be able to set up cases ensuring that all instruments are thoroughly sterilized
- Must be able to maintain the sterile field during case set up
- Must be able to assist physician to cut suture material
- Must be able to apply electrocautery to clamps on bleeders under the direct supervision of the surgeon
- Must be able to perform gross decontamination of instruments including breaking down instruments for further cleaning in Central Sterile Processing
- Must be able to collaborate with the circulating nurse to carry out appropriate interventions
- Must agree to a drug-free workplace
- Must agree to post offer, pre-employment drug testing
