Job Summary
Prepare sterile instruments and supplies, assemble equipment, and maintain aseptic technique during operative and invasive procedures. Perform surgical counts with the circulating RN, retrieve and label specimens, and assist with skin prep, clipping, and catheter insertion. Clean operative rooms and instruments post-procedure while reporting implanted devices and drains to the circulator. This full-time, 40-hour day shift role at Mercy Health Allen Hospital requires CST certification and one year of surgical technology experience. Some Saturday availability is required, and staff must remain accessible for on-call rotations.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTA) or Tech in Surgery – Certified (TS-C), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- Associates Degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology
- One year of perioperative, operating room, or related military surgical technology experience
- BLS Basic Life Support
- Full Time - Scheduled for 40 Weekly Hours
- Days shift
- Accessible for on call as scheduled
- Available within the time frames as indicated by the department
- Some Saturday Availability
