Job Summary
Certified Surgical Tech in the CVOR setting facilitates operative procedures by preparing sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment; maintains the sterile field; assists scrub during procedures; performs surgical counts; prepares and organizes supplies; retrieves specimens; assists with catheter placement; supports on-call scheduling; helps orient new staff; and participates in patient safety and ongoing competency verification. Requires an Associate degree or equivalent surgical technology certification, CST/NBSTSA/NCCT credentials, BLS, and at least one year of surgical technology experience; role involves working in the Hybrid OR – Roper Hospital in Charleston, SC.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
- NBSTSA certification
- NCCT certification
- BLS certification (required at hire)
- Associate degree or Vocational Certification in Surgical Technology
- One year perioperative, operating room, or related military surgical technology experience (preferred)
- Licensing/Certification NBSTSA/NCCT requirements by location
- Ability to assist in sterile technique and patient safety protocols
