Job Summary
As a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CVOR), you will work with the open heart team primarily assisting Cardiovascular Surgeons during various procedures such as coronary artery bypass, aortic valve replacement, and mitral valve surgery. The role involves autonomously harvesting veins for cases and managing surgical tasks including bleeding control, suturing, and addressing complications as they arise. Candidates should have one to two years of CVOR experience, be focused on CVOR, Vascular, and Thoracic services, and possess strong communication skills while serving as a professional role model. A sign-on bonus of $10,000 is offered for candidates with one year or more experience, along with relocation reimbursement up to $7,000.
Required Qualifications
- One to two years of CVOR experience is required.
- Mainly focused on CVOR, Vascular, and Thoracic services.
- Possesses the ability to relate effectively to patients, their families, physicians, staff, and all others using proper channels of communication.
- Recognizes the importance of being a professional role model for others.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her specific needs.
- Deliver outstanding customer service that upholds CarolinaEast's Standards of Excellence.
Desired Qualifications
- Robotic experience would be a plus.
- Knowledge of current trends and techniques in nursing.
