Job Summary
Facilitate psychoeducational, skills-building, and therapeutic group sessions in accordance with ASAM criteria to provide structured education and relapse-prevention support for individuals in our Intensive Outpatient Program. Maintain group structure, safety, and therapeutic boundaries while monitoring participant participation and reporting clinical or safety concerns requiring supervisory review. Collaborate with clinical supervisors, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care, and complete accurate documentation including group notes and attendance records in compliance with DBHDS, DMAS, and EPIC Health Partners standards. Provide crisis support and service coordination as needed within the scope of the role, while participating in supervision, team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities.
Required Qualifications
- Active registration with the Virginia Board of Counseling as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or CSAC supervisee
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience providing substance use and/or mental health services in individual, family, or group settings
- Knowledge of ASAM criteria, relapse‐prevention strategies, and evidence‐based addiction treatment approaches
- Ability to facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducational groups
- Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills
