Job Summary
Facilitate successful delivery of services to linguistically diverse patients and family members by providing translation services for sight and written materials, including pre-operative, post-operative, and discharge instructions. Collaborate with qualified auxiliary interpreters to accommodate interpretation requests and serve as a cultural mediator to enhance communication between staff and patients. Keep accurate documentation of interpretation encounters, including location, duration, and purpose, while answering calls promptly to conduct interpretation in a friendly and professional manner. Provide coordination and staff training on telephone language interpretation services and relevant equipment. Adhere to the standard code of ethics for medical interpreters in all situations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience healthcare and/or medical interpreting
Desired Qualifications
- Experience healthcare and/or medical interpreting experience 2-3 years preferred
