Job Summary
Perform respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures as ordered by the physician, focusing on assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation of care. Assess age and population-specific patient needs while operating under the direction of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director/manager. Serve as a Lead RCP during your shift if no supervisor is present, managing the section or department responsibilities. Maintain current certifications including BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program, with a requirement for two years of acute care experience. Work full-time night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) in a high-acuity critical care environment at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois.
Required Qualifications
- Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license
- Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA or ARC
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the AHA
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two (2) years of acute care experience
- Availability for rotating weekends
- Night shift availability (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Full-time employment commitment (36 hours per week)
