Job Summary
Develops, implements, and evaluates an individual plan of care for each patient. Oversees care of patients provided by nursing and other staff on the assigned unit/shift. Communicates and collaborates with other departments to coordinate care. Documents care and changes in patient condition, and takes remedial actions when needed. Assumes the responsibility of Charge Nurse when needed and as assigned. Instructs patients and caregivers on tests, procedures, treatments, and medications in understandable terms. Attends interdisciplinary conference, representing the department and relaying nursing observations. Implements emergency response to crisis situations in the absence of senior management. Provides a minimum of two in-services annually. Participates in identifying and implementing training needs for nurse development.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN licensure as required by state regulations
- Current RN licensure appropriate to state regulations
- CRRN certification required
- CPR certification (ACLS preferred)
- Two years of inpatient hospital experience preferred
- Inpatient rehabilitation experience preferred
