Job Summary
Provides anesthesia care as part of the anesthesia care team, administering intravenous, spinal and other anesthetics prior to and during surgical or medical procedures, and monitoring patients during and after anesthesia. Responsible for postoperative reporting and maintaining records of administered anesthetics, and performing procedures outside the OR in accordance with Kaiser Permanente policies. Conducts pre-anesthesia evaluations, reviews patient charts, identifies potential airway or other complications, explains procedures and risks to patients, develops and implements anesthesia plans, and collaborates with supervising physicians and surgeons. Monitors patient vital signs, communicates with the team about patient condition, and maintains safety and documentation standards. May perform outside-OR procedures (e.g., intubation, arterial line placement) as required by policy. Requires demonstrated team collaboration, clinical judgment, and adherence to regulatory requirements; ACLS/BLS required, with OB experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program
- Graduate of an accredited school of anesthesia by date of hire
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (California) required at hire
- Registered Nurse License (California) required at hire from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
- National Provider Identifier required at hire
- Basic Life Support
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support
