Job Summary
Conduct thorough pre-anesthetic evaluations, including reviewing medical history, laboratory results, and current medications. Assess and identify potential anesthesia risks, develop individualized care plans, and obtain informed consent. Administer general, regional, and local anesthesia, as well as sedation, spinal, epidural, and peripheral nerve blocks. Induce and maintain anesthesia during surgical, therapeutic, diagnostic, and obstetrical procedures while monitoring physiological responses and adjusting anesthetic levels. Provide post-anesthesia care, manage post-operative conditions, and respond to code situations with emergency airway management and resuscitative efforts. Educate patients and families on the anesthesia process, risks, and recovery expectations. Collaborate with pediatric surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless perioperative care. Participate in teaching and mentoring nurse anesthesia students, residents, or newly hired CRNAs.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in related field
- Registered Nurse licensure
- CRNA certification
- Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists certification
- BLS certification
- PALS certification
- ACLS certification
