Job Summary
Administer general and regional anesthesia for surgical, obstetrical, and other procedures across neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations under medical supervision. Evaluate patients pre-operatively, review charts, and select appropriate anesthetics based on examinations. Monitor patients intraoperatively, manage airways, fluid balance, and homeostasis, and respond to emergencies including cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Evaluate operative and post-operative conditions, precept student nurse anesthetists, and maintain accurate controlled substance accounting. Uphold Kaiser Permanente policies, TJC, and Title 22 requirements while ensuring equipment safety and establishing cooperative relations with staff and patients.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an educational program in Nurse Anesthesia accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs and Schools
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (California)
- Registered Nurse License (California)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- Basic Life Support
- National Provider Identifier
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist National Certification
- Experience in anesthesia for major procedures involving extensive monitoring and fluid, blood, and electrolyte replacement for various age group patients
- CRNAs must demonstrate both technical/clinical and professional skill and ability along with all related techniques and procedures within the scope of practice as defined by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs
- Additional skills are required in charting and documentation, knowledge of equipment and supplies, productivity, job and personal maturity communication, and education and staff development
