Job Summary
Administer general and regional anesthesia for surgical, obstetrical, and other procedures across neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations under medical supervision. Perform pre-operative evaluations, review charts, select anesthetics, and manage airway, fluid balance, and ventilator support. Monitor intraoperative patients, evaluate post-operative conditions within 24 hours, and precept student nurse anesthetists. Maintain accurate controlled substance accounting, check equipment daily, and comply with Kaiser Permanente policies, TJC, and California state regulations. May travel within the Downey Service Area.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an educational program in Nurse Anesthesia accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs and Schools
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (California)
- Registered Nurse License (California)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- Basic Life Support
- National Provider Identifier
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist National Certification
- Experience in anesthesia for major procedures involving extensive monitoring and fluid, blood, and electrolyte replacement for various age group patients
- CRNAs must demonstrate both technical/clinical and professional skill and ability along with all related techniques and procedures within the scope of practice as defined by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs
- Additional skills are required in charting and documentation, knowledge of equipment and supplies, productivity, job and personal maturity communication, and education and staff development
- May travel in the Downey Service Area
