Job Summary
Conduct clinical and administrative duties under direct supervision, including taking vital signs, administering medications, performing venipuncture and immunizations, and assisting with procedures like ear irrigation and specimen collection. Retrieve patient chart information for lab tests, obtain consent signatures, and prepare patients for office visits per policy. Support entry and recording of visit charges, ensure referral forms are complete, and provide clear follow-up care instructions while respecting cultural beliefs and patient preferences. Requisition and stock inventory, dispose of contaminated items, and clean examination rooms. Participate in quality improvement meetings and maintain patient confidentiality. Float to other clinic sites upon request to meet staffing needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school education
- Broad technical training in a nationally recognized Medical Assistant Program
- Current Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
- Working knowledge of data processing equipment, computers, telephones, and such typical office machines and equipment
- Effective written and oral communication/English skills
- Current CMA/RMA designation
- CPR certification
- NC driver's license
- Ability to float to other clinic sites upon request to meet staffing and coverage needs
