Job Summary
Provide culturally specific peer support to refugee-immigrant and Black, Indigenous, and people of color clients experiencing substance abuse issues through coaching, mentoring, and 1:1 counseling. Manage caseloads by facilitating contact with providers, assisting with case management, care coordination, and employment support while addressing barriers to treatment access. Communicate with the treatment team regarding client concerns and document services accurately in electronic health records. Support outreach, education, and community engagement activities while acting as a positive role model and advocate for individuals in recovery. Maintain compliance with all program requirements and demonstrate cultural humility in client interactions. Work out of Beaverton and Portland offices with a 37.5-hour week, eligible for student loan forgiveness and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM) or Certified Peer Support Specialist-Adult Addictions (PSS)
- Reliable transportation for business purposes, such as between work locations and community settings as this position drives clients in personal and/or agency rental
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak in English
- Standard LCSNW criminal clearance, including national sex offender, motor vehicle records
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record
- Active auto insurance
