Job Summary
Conduct culturally specific peer support for refugee-immigrant and Black, Indigenous, and people of color clients experiencing substance abuse issues. Manage a caseload by providing coaching, mentoring, and modeling healthy behavior while facilitating contact with providers and assisting with case management and care coordination. Deliver 1:1 peer counseling, education, and employment support, then communicate treatment team concerns and document services in electronic health records. Support outreach, education, and community engagement activities while acting as an advocate and positive role model for individuals exploring wellness and recovery. Maintain compliance with all program requirements, including record-keeping and reporting, and demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of served populations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM) or Certified Peer Support Specialist-Adult Addictions (PSS)
- Reliable transportation for business purposes, such as between work locations and community settings as this position drives clients in personal and/or agency rental
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak in English
- Standard LCSNW criminal clearance, including national sex offender, motor vehicle records, valid driver's license with clean driving record, and active auto insurance
