Job Summary
Perform diagnostic pulmonary function testing while demonstrating proficiency in equipment calibration, clinical aerosol delivery, and emergency management procedures. Coordinate the delivery of prescribed testing services and provide instruction to laboratory staff, patients, nurses, and physicians. Maintain knowledge of accepted standards, policies, and instrumentation for pulmonary function laboratory operations. Requires an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy, NBRC certification (RRT, CRT, or CPFT), and New York State licensure. Salary range $58,223.93 - $100,436.29 annually.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC; RRT credential) and New York State Respiratory Therapist license
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC; CRT credential) and New York State Respiratory Therapy Technician license
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care Certification for Pulmonary Function Technology (CPFT)
- Cert Pulmon Func Tech (CPFT)
- Respiratory Therapy Tech-NYS
- Resp Thrpst License-NYS
- Natl Respiratory Therapy Reg
- Computer competency, including basic understanding of, and ability to work with, Microsoft Windows based pulmonary function software programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Pulmonary Function Lab
- Bachelors degree in respiratory care, cardiorespiratory sciences or related area as recognized by the New York State Board for Respiratory Therapy
- Two years full time acute care hospital PFT laboratory experience
