Job Summary
Design, fabricate, and fit custom prosthetic and orthotic devices based on individual patient specifications; evaluate patients’ needs through comprehensive assessments; maintain records and ensure compliance with HIPAA and ABC/BOC standards; collaborate with physicians, therapists, and rehabilitation specialists to deliver holistic care; educate patients on device use and maintenance; travel up to 40% to care for patients at nursing homes and other healthcare facilities; mentor junior clinicians and coordinate with technical staff on fabrication and modification of devices; stay current with technologies in prosthetics and orthotics to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- Certification by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthist (ABC) or Board of Certification (BOC)
- Licensed to practice as a CPO in New Jersey (or ability to obtain licensure)
- 2 to 3 years of experience as a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (preferred)
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics from a CAAHEP-accredited program
- NCOPE-accredited residency program
