Certified Prosthetist Orthotist

Job Summary
Provide evaluation, design, fabrication, and fitting of custom prosthetic and orthotic devices for patients with limb loss or musculoskeletal needs. Travel up to 40% to nursing homes and healthcare facilities. Maintain accurate patient records, code care appropriately, and collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and rehabilitation specialists to ensure holistic, patient-centered care. Maintain ongoing patient education on device use and maintenance, stay current with new technologies and materials, assist in device fabrication and modification with technical staff, and mentor junior clinicians. Must hold ABC or BOC certification and be licensed to practice in New Jersey, with NCOPE residency completion; CAD/CAM experience is a plus; strong emphasis on safety, ethics, and HIPAA compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Certification by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthist (ABC) or Board of Certification (BOC)
- Licensed to practice as a CPO in New Jersey (or ability to obtain licensure)
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics from a CAAHEP-accredited program
- Completion of an NCOPE-accredited residency program
- Experience with CAD/CAM technology is a plus
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of Medicare criteria
- HIPAA compliance
- Proven ability to stay current with technologies and techniques
